pH level in pools with stabiliser

Postby Teapot » Fri 11 Jan, 2019 12:34

Whilst we all try and keep our pH level meticulously between pH 7.2 & 7.6 buying pH reducer etc. New research has proved that this is not necessary in pools that use stabiliser (mainly outdoor pools) as the CYA stabiliser forms a disinfectant which is not really pH dependent unlike what has been taught for years on pool courses. The effect of the CYA stabiliser is way more important than the pH. What we do need to do, is to maintain a better level of chlorine sanitiser to keep our pools nice! People already using the BBB method will be familiar with this already but I thought it worth sharing.

The research is here:
