How do I use bleach and borax to clean my green pool?

Postby ncpoolmom » Thu 22 May, 2008 18:34

I got to this site by asking how to get my green pool to clean. I have read some posts that mention the BBB method and I have seen pictures of an inground pool that stated all they used were bleach and bleach. Please let me know anything you can.

Read this sticky and make sure you measure your CYA level so you'll know what you need to do -- with very high CYA it's usually better to start off with a partial drain/refill whereas with near zero CYA adding some CYA may be the best first step. With normal CYA levels, one starts with chlorine. The shock level of chlorine is a Free Chlorine (FC) level that is about 40% of the Cyanuric Acid (CYA) level.

You pretty much found this site for the same reason and the same way I did. And asked the same question. I stared using bleach yesterday. And my pool turned from green to blue overnight. Its far from clean but at least the color changed.
I Didn’t Know it would be such a pain
