High pressure

Postby jackieolackio » Sun 08 May, 2011 12:33

I am having a problem with the return to my inground pool. The pressure in my filter reads arount 35 to 40 but nothing is being returned to my pool. I have replaced almost all of the parts, pump, filter, chlorinator, etc. I believe it is the "check valve" prior to my chlorinator but I am so frustrated I was hoping someone would know exactly what this does, I know it prevents backflow into my pipes to prevent corosion, but could this be the problem of nothing being returned to my pool. Extra info: it runs nicely for a while, like 5 to 10 minutes, then I lose all return to my pool yet my pump keeps pumping and the pressure in my filter keeps on rising. Please any help would be appreciated. BTW the pool companies in my town are crappy!! They are no help at all. Have called them a couple of times but, if they come, they are no help. I seem to know more than they do just from fooling with the pool.
