Installing new liner-how do you get the light out

We built this pool 10 years ago. Went together very easily. Now, need to replace the liner. Have all parts (skimmer, inlets, steps, etc) ready to go for liner install EXCEPT the light. Can't remember how we put the liner around the light. Sad to say, hubby is an electrician and he can't figure out how to get the light apart without digging up the deck and pulling it back to the junction box. There has to be an easier way.

The light is a Hayward SP05080100. HELP. I want to go swimming this weekend.
