Pool suction problems
What are the pressure readings I should have during regular filtration and then during backwash? Also, in the skimmer, the hole on the side at the bottom pulls with more pressure than the one on the bottom. Because of this I can't get much suction when using the hose for cleaning. What could be the problem? Mike

Pool suction problems
If your pool equipment is properly sized (a Huge "if") then you'd like to have your filter pressure between 8-18 (with a clean filter). The pressure at backwash doesn't matter at all.
The suction port with better suction is, obviously the one you should be using for cleaning. There may be a diverter or valve somewhere that you can use to adjust the amount of suction to one hole or the other. You can use this to divert all the suction to the line you're using but remember to adjust it back when you're done for better flow and a safer environment.
