Painted brick pool wall problem

Postby cajurisdr » Sat 18 Jun, 2011 16:07

I purchased a home w/a gunite pool that has tile trim. The tile extends apprx 4inches above the waterline. Two sides of the pool have red brick that extends apprx 18inches above the waterline tile. The problem is the red brick was painted white and the paint is starting to peel. The white brick looks awful even if it wasn't peeling as the backyard has red decorative brick throughout the patio.

Per the pool inspector, the color is Tahoe Blue and the shape is lazy L.

Any suggestions on what to do w/the peeling white paint?

As an idea, consider tiling over with a 4"tumbled travertine. You can mix beige, noce, chiara and country white, I did complete tile over on the pebble stone epoxy coping when it went south. If you in the South, do not even need sealer.
