DE in my pump

Postby Keeganr » Tue 02 Aug, 2011 18:05

EC-40

I'm having trouble with my filter letting DE flow back into my pump. I assume this is only happening when the pump is off, but I am not certain.

There is no check valve in my EC-40.... Is this normal or do all EC-40's have a check valve. (purchased mine used)..

Are there other reasons this could be happening ?

Thanks for any help,,

you do not need a check valve for the EC40. I have never heard of this issue either. Are you certain it is DE in your pump? Also, is DE returning to your pool from the returns and being vacuumed by your pool cleaner? If so, you may only need to replace the fingers for the filter.
