Glass filtration media = cloudy water

Good day gentlemen

i live in South Africa, and glass filtration media is new to our market. i recently changed my sand to glass and my pool water turned milky and cloudy over night. i treated my water with a stabilizer recommended by the pool shop. after a couple of days my pool turned cloudy again.

have any of you experienced this before and if so what was, in your opinion, the reason for this. i have only heard great things about the glass filtration media.
