Need advice on traditional vs kit pools

Hiya,

We want to have an outdoor swimming pool built but are getting really confused about the best way to go about it: a kit through an apparently established company or a traditional one by local tradesmen. We are very conscious of safety as there is a wall nearby: the former says we can build his kit 50cm away from the wall and the latter says no one should dig any nearer than 1.5m to protect the wall's foundations.
Not sure who to trust and what the best option for us is...
