Minimum size of swimming pool
It depends on what you want to do with it. If you want to do lap swimming in an in-ground pool, then generally a 32' length would be a minimum to not seem way too short when doing laps. 16' width would be typical but if there is only one lap swimmer at any time then you could go narrower (though the pool starts to look unusual when too narrow). If you aren't doing lap swimming, then you don't need a pool to be this large and it's more dependent on how many people you plan to have in it at one time.

It depends on space available for same and budget both. You can get most appropriate suggestion from your local swimming pool installation and maintenance company.

I think the standard sizes for home pools range from 16x32 or 18x36 for inground pools, but you can also get inflatable pools sets. The smallest I've seen so far is 8x 30 (here's an example)
