Adding Pool Chemicals

I put a stabilizer tablet in the skimmer. Can I add shock to the pool water while the stabilizer tablet is in the skimmer?

I did and it didn't cause any problems for me but I am also a newbie to the whole pool "thing".

You should be able to with no problems, read your directions for the shock some require you to remove the skimmer basket.
