Green pool, leaking filter

Hello , first post. Uncovered my pool to water that was very green. Shocked pool, scrubbed ffloor and walls and used first aid in the water. I have a de filter that started leaking from under the lid after only running for 20 minutes. My pressure shot up 12 spots. I back washed, brought the number down and again, same thing happened. Is this because the water is so dirty or might there be a problem with the filter? Very new to the pool so forgive me for the question. Any advice?
