Hayword Chlorine Feeder

Not introducing measureable chlorine with a feeder (also obvious by their very slow dissolution) using "pucks." Maintaining correct chemistry with stablized powder. Hayword is hooked up correctly using pressure drop across filter with drop of almost 15 psi and Hayword valve wide open. We inherted this system - do these feeders ever fail? The principle seems simple, a flow valve on the input side and possibly a check valve on the exit.

Sometimes the Chlorinator will get clogged by tiny pieces of the hockey pucks. To fix this, turn the valve all the way open then closed a bunch of times. The pressure variation usually flushes out the clog.

it could also be plugged, the puck feeders will get clogged with puck sludge, you will need to disassemble the dial valve and clean or replace it.

Good suggestions for source of problem. Finally took apart and found that a check valve was on the input side which was positioned to stop any flow. I switched with the the "plain" output (assumeing the check valve belonges somethere<g> and the pot is now working fine and very sensitive to setting.
