Green water

Postby bean22759 » Fri 15 Jun, 2012 21:07

I had what I thought was a greenish silt on the bottom of my pool while the pool water itself was clear. I vacuumed the pool but the silt came right back through the sand filter into the water clouding the water a greenish tint. Is this algae? The clorine level is high and alkalinity is also very high. Any help?

Postby bean22758 » Sat 23 Jun, 2012 11:20

I got my PH level down to 7.2, my alklinity level to 120 and my stablizer reading to ideal on Tuesday. Triple shocked with 3 lbs. of suoer shock on Wednesday. Thursday water still green. Talked to a "pool expert" abd he told me my readings were good but it takes time. Well its Saturday and my water is still green. Got no help here or from any pool experts. I'm done I'm dumping the water and starting again. THANKS
