I am currently using a Caribbean Clear ionizer but I want to go with the BBB method instead. I need instructions on the steps I need to take to convert my pool.

You need to add an HEDP-based metal sequestrant to prevent metal staining and make sure to start out your pH a little lower (below 7.5) before you add chlorine, just in case the metal level is high (lower pH helps to prevent metal staining). Other than that, there's nothing else you need to do except read the Pool School and follow those instructions, especially the chlorine/CYA chart. If you want to more permanently remove the metals from your pool so that you don't have to keep adding sequestrant, you can try using CuLator.
