Filter pump draining water from pool

My Pool: In-ground with spa, Hayward pump, DE filter. I do not know exact size.
Location: Sugar Land, TX

Hi, I am trying to troubleshoot a pool problem. When I turn my filter pump on the water starts draining out of my pool. Do I need a new spider gasket? I have a Hayward pump and DE filter if this helps. Thank you!

It looks like I solved the problem by gluing the spider gasket in. A small area on one of the spokes had come unglued and created havoc.
