Main drain help

Hi yall, i recently moved into a house with a inground concrete pool that has a single main drain. I recently purchaced a Drainsafe 360M drain cover so i could be in compliance with the VGB 2008 act. I know its not required for home pools but i feel more comfortable with a anti entrapment cover in place before i let the family in the pool. The old cover in place is a white flat one made by sta rite. I went down with scuba gear to check out its specs but there are no visable screws in place. Is removing it as simple as just pulling it out or do you need a special tool.
