bright green cloudy water

Over about 24 hrs. pool water turned bright green and cannot see the bottom even at shallow end. All usual tests were reading correctly. Have super chlorinated and of course that is super high now. Have also added algecide at dealer's suggestion.
How long will it take, from time "medication" was added to clear? Assume will have to brush sides tomorow a.m, as just did this afternoon.
Am in the Toronto area of Canada, just for bit on weather conditions.
