Hi All
I have just moved into a new house with a pool that was not maintained for many months.
When i first looked at the pool i thought that i would never get it clear. I have used a shock treatment and have run it for 48 hours.but the water stays cloudy.
When i turn the pump off it comes loverly and clear with dirt sitting on the bottom, so i vacuum it.
the next day a little less dirt on the bottom. i have been backwashing and rinsing everyday.
BUT everytime i turn on the pump it throws out dirt from the water out lets into the pool and i am back to square one again
PLEASE HELP a Novice
thanks

It could be your filter media, but try a clarifier first of all
It clogs the very fine particles together allowing them to be filtered out

That's great
Always try the simplest first
Some clarifier's recommend monthly use but I only use them when I get the same issue as you had
