Brass corrosion

Postby gomergus » Sat 16 Feb, 2013 13:44

I recently resurfaced a pool and used a brass adapter light ring . I bonded and attached wire to the j-box . Now there is a rust color around the light. After inspecting the eq.room I noticed that none of the pumps or heaters had their bond wires attached.Although it doesn't have a salt generator I was told by persons at my supply store that the lack of bonding is the cause of the corrosion to the brass. An electrician disagreed . Who is right?

Make sure the J-Box ground is tied to the main house ground bar in the panel. You meant corrosion not rust, correct?
And btw, do not ask this "electrician" even what time it is.
