DE filter pressure high after service (2 hours)

Postby Csup1825 » Fri 22 Feb, 2013 20:48

Help! My DE filter's pressure is already high after 2-3 hours of service cleaning. Its at 25 psi already. I already used a degreaser to take out oils, dirt, etc. I used Leslie's pool spray & rinse filter cleaner. Already put 6 lbs of DE. Water chemistry is all balanced. Water is a bit cloudy. Please help!

You probably have an algae bloom and need to kill that first. Here is a good site for instructions on what to do:

Defeating Algae
Hydraulics 101; Pump and Pool Spreadsheets; Pump Ed 101
18'x36' 20k gallon plaster/gunite pool, 1/2 HP 2sp pump, Aqualogic PS8 SWCG, 420 sq-ft Cartridge Filter, Solar Panels, 6 jet spa, 1 HP jet pump, 400k BTU NG Heater
