Vacum to waste works for 3 seconds then quits

Algae problems in swimming pool water.
Green (cloudy) water or slimy pool walls.
Black algae. Mustard algae. Pink or white pool mold.

My vacum to waste works for 3 seconds great then totally quits. I have tried both returns and get the same results. What is wrong?

Is it getting air and loosing suction? I had this problem and replaced the vac hose.
