Opening with alot of slim on the pool bottom

i have a loop lock cover and live in ny.i have been opening and closing my own pool for years.we are in the woods so we get alot of leaves and debris on the cover.i pull most of it off before removing the cover but alot decays and forms a slimmy sediment on trhe bottom.the pool is 20x50 so it`s alot of vacuming and empting the basket.i`m just trying to figure out a better and quicker way.i know if a get a pump and just suck everything out it would work but waste alot of water.any other sugestions?thanks
