pool liner

I have a 18x33 pool Does anybody know if you convert a j hook liner to a over lap liner. I think my liner is to big..

How do you know it's too big? If you have a pattern, it will be cut off. The J hook material would have to be removed (metal hanger) then you need something to hold on to the liner to keep it from slipping down.
