No Alkalinity reading at all

I've filled the pool, (90,000 gallons) and added 45 gallons of Hydrochloric Acid, as well as aprox. 12 pounds of powdered chlorine. I have a perfect 7.2 pH reading, but cannot achieve any color change in the sample when testing for Alkalinity.
