Customer Review - UGlassit Pool Resurfacing

I wanted to make a statement regarding my experience with UGlassit Pool Resurfacing company.

I have a 25 year old fiberglass pool that was in very poor repair, and required fiberglass patches and new gel coat. After much research, I approaced Uglassit pool resurfacing ( to dicuss the options. I was able to talk through the problems with the owner operator, and decided to place an order for gel coat and fiberglass.

On May 8, 2013 I placed an order for several pails of resin and gel coat. The owner informed me that they were backlogged in their shipping, however assured me that I would have the order in hand by June 1. Well, June 1 came and delivery. July 1, came and went... no delivery... Finally, in August the order arrived. Answer was that they shipped it to the wrong address... twice. Unfortunately their mistake cost me time and money, and caused me to miss my scheduled installation window.

Not only was the order grossly overdue, but during that period the customer service was abissmal. I made countless inquiries regarding my order via phone, email and even fax, and only rarely reached someone from the company or received and email or call back. Even after I had received the order, my inquires regarding installation were days late or not answered at all. A bad thing when you are in the process of mixing resin and need some advice. This is even more inexcusable given that the company repeatdely laudes their "Customer Service and Istallation Hotline" all over the company website.

Lastly, after all this Uglassit had the audacity to bill me $215 for freight charges. This was an unexpected cost that I was unaware of at the time of order. Several attempts were made by me to appeal this charge, but again I was met with no response. Nonetheless, I continued to recieve invoices, and then threats of sending the account to collections. I have since paid the charges in order to stop any collections proceeding, but only because I want to be free and clear of this company.

In closing, let me say that I am very pleased with the product. I am, however, appalled by the way I was treated by this company. This is not how to do business, and I am disgusted at Uglassit's disregard for my perspective on this transaction. As a DIY'er, customer service is at the top of my list, and the reason I chose Uglassit to begin with. Uglassit's action (or inaction) is inexcusable.

I hope that my loss better informs others, and that if they choose this company that their experience will be better than my own. That said... buyer beware of Uglassit.
