Postby skpool » Wed 26 Mar, 2014 23:16

Hello Experts,

There is water leakage at the point where pump motor gets connected to the strainer. Can you guys take a look at attached picture and suggest what could the problem be ?

I see that my pool level is going down every day as well the pool filter shows very low pressure. Please help.

Pool pump leaking and low pressure

Hi There,

Hard to tell exactly from your pic but is the leak coming from a small crack in the front housing? This is fairly common with a Sta-Rite pump. You would need to replace the front half of the housing. The part you need is Pentair C176-47P1 you can get it on Amazon for about 60 bucks. You will want to replace the square gasket that goes in between that and the strainer pot as well.

If it is just leaking from where the 4 bolts are you only need to replace that square gasket. You can get that at any pool store for just a few bucks. All you have to do is remove those 4 bolts and you should be able to replace the gasket without much hassle.

It's hard to tell if you can't personally see it. I think you need to call an expert to fix this
