Sand filter leak

Older filter. When I turn the pump on water starts coming out of my backwash pipe slowly. When I back wash everything works fine but when I go back to any other setting on the filter, I still get small amount of water coming out of the back wash pipe. How do I fix this?

I think there is problem either with pipe or valve. You should check if there is problem with either end of pipe which leads to blockage of water.
