I did not receive a response from the forum, so I visited a pool supply store. They tested the water and here are the results:

total chlorine 5
Free chlorine 5
ph 6.6
total alkalinity 48
total hardness 231
no black algae present in sample
no green algae present in sample
borates 15

to raise the ph they recommended add 1.5 pounds of balance pak 200
( I have baking soda. Do I add the same amount of baking soda? (1.5 lbs.)?

to raise the alkalinity they recommend 12.5 pounds of balance pak 100. What is the store-bought product equivalent to balance pak 100, and do I use 12.5 pounds of the store-bought equivalent?

They also recommend optimizer plus. What exactly is this?

thanks in advance for any help.

15,000 gal. pool
I use chlorine
pool was a cloudy-looking green. Can't see the bottom.
