HI all
I have a Bestway sand filter, the operating pressurr should be around 3.5 to 4 psi but I have an issue where it will run correctly for up to 1 minute then the pressure suddenly increases straight up to 6.5 psi.
If I power off and power on the filter, same thing happens again.
So far I have checked all fittings are securely fastened, check sand level, backwashed and rinsed several times.
I have run out of ideas! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Andy

Bestway sand filter sudden pressure increase
Hi
Is it critical that it operates at the lower pressure because 6.5 PSI seems quiet low any way.
The increase in pressure would be a restriction in the system. Is the suction and returns the same as before .
Have you changed the pump?
Have you put a calorifier in the system?
You could try restricting the flow to the pump with a valve but that could make it suck in air if you have any slight leaks.
