How can I reduce my pool water ph level, currently it is almost 8.9.

Are you sure it is 8.9? Most test kits only measure from 6.8 to 8.2. If you need to lower the pH you do so by adding acid. Muriatic Acid has the least side effects since dry acid increases sulfates that built-up can degrade plaster surfaces. You should add acid slowly over a return flow with the pump running and then lightly brush the side and bottom of the pool where you've added the acid.

Thanks, the result will come at once or it take some time?

You should check the pH a few hours after adding the acid to check how much the pH has been reduced.
