Cloudy Pool-Need Help with Levels-Saltwater

Postby nbrown » Sun 26 Jun, 2016 13:44

Hello! I am new to pools and Saltwater!!
We have the Intex Ultra Frame Pool 18'x48" with Intex Krystal Clear Sand Filter Pump 2800GPH and the Intex Krystal Clear Saltwater System.
We had a green pool and after two boost cycles and more salt we now have a cloudy pool. These are our levels...

Total Hardness TH 1000

Free Chlorine FC 0

PH 8.4

Total Alkalinity TA 240

Cyanuric Acid CA 100

I am hoping someone can help me to get these levels back on track!! I have read a lot of posts, but still need help!

Replacing pool water will reduce TH, TA and CA proportionaly by the amount you replace unless your source water has a high calcium level
Muriatic acid (hydrochloric acid) will reduce TA and PH (take care when handling)
Aeration will raise PH
You don't specify your salt content
Before a salt chlorine generator can operate, the swimming pool water must have a salt concentration of 3,000 ppm (parts per million).

You haven't given your combined chlorine. Do you have a test kit as you really need one
Try slamming your pool http://www.troublefreepool.com/content/125-slam-shock-level-and-maintain-shockingl
You will need to shock at 24ppm (use bleach)you don't want to add any more CYA
Reduce your PH between 7.2 and 7.5

You can't just guess what to put in you need to know your correct levels and adjust accordingly, not strips
I suggest you wait till you are back from vacation and then spend some time getting your pool clear. It won't just happen overnight
