Green water

Postby usmcpilot06 » Sun 17 Jul, 2016 05:53

Just cant seem to get my water to clear up this year.
FC=3
PH=7.6
TA=80
Hardness 800, I have well water
CYA=80
I used sequasol because of high copper, I use n inline chlorinator, I used stabilized 3 inch tabs. Bleach hen need, water is cloudy and green can almost see the bottom, Yesterday I had to replace my valve head, was getting air in the return, a lot of it, it has subsided. At a point last week I had the water starting to clear up but then we got a huge storm and its been green since then.

Stop using the chlorine tabs you are putting to much CYA in
Slam the pool http://www.troublefreepool.com/content/125-slam-shock-level-and-maintain-shockingl
With your CYA at 80 you will need to shock at 31ppm Chlorine (use bleach)
It may be worth draining half the water and refill to get your CYA down to 40 before slammng which would require 16ppm Chlorine
Use the PoolMath to work out how to keep your pool in balance http://www.troublefreepool.com/calc.html
While you are there check out the Pool School there is a lot of useful info there
