Low water flow from sand filter.
Hello. First of all I have an above ground pool that was a hand me down from my father in law. It's 24 foot wide and 4 foot deep. I have an intex pump and sand filter. Well here we go, my problem is that after my pump ribs for a hour or so it's like I loose all out flow pressure from the jet. I have back washed over and over again thinking that might be the problem. Can anyone please help me? Thank you very much

Is there a pressure gauge on the system and if so can you tell me where it is positioned and what it is reading, it could be that the sand needs changing, has it been changed before?

Check whether the pump strainer basket has air in it when the flow stops, you could be sucking in air on the suction side
Lubricate the pump strainer basket lid "O" ring with silicon grease

My pressure gauge is staying at 10 ,11 . I do have a small drip at the intake hose at the pump. I don't think the sand had been changed since it was bought in 1982. I did just do a deep cleaning of the sand. I will try and get done of that lube when I get paid

If it drips when running you don't have worry about sucking in air
You could try Vaseline (Petroleum Jelly) but clean it up when you get the silicon grease
The silicon grease shouldn't be that expensive https://www.walmart.com/ip/Wm-Harvey-Co-Silicone-Grease-Set-of-12-Set-of-6/22857114

OK I just walked out to check my pump and the pressure was up to 15 but there was no water flow to the out pot jet
