Filter loud noise

So i have hayward xstream filter about 5 or so years old. Last few weeks ive had this loud noise coming from the filter unit not motor. Ive had the pressure gauge break twice. Today i actually notices that the top of the canister actually (let me try explain) bows up when noise happens as if way to much pressure? I hate have buy new unit for something probably so simple.

It seems like a pressure issue, have you noticed a reduction in the return flow
What pressure do you have?
Have you backwashed?
Are you sucking in air? check water at skimmer level, is it stuck up? check pump basket "O" ring and lubricate with silicon grease
