best product to rid stains

I have brown green sometimes scaly looking stains on my floor and walls. I have recently had an acid wash and refilled. The problem began around the time our new heater came into use...Our calcium hardness is low....can any of these things cause staining and what should I use to get them off? I would prefer a product that we could swim soon after use.
