Replace cracked lines underground for inground pool?

Postby randypape » Mon 06 Aug, 2018 19:04

I'm thinking I have a cracked main drain line and a cracked return line and the pool is 30 years old. Does anybody know what this would cost to have it all ripped up all the lines underground replaced and a have a new vinyl liner put in. What I'm worried about is if I fix a line or 2 and then down the road another one goes? I need some advice please.

After30 years If you are replacing lines, replace all
You can discontinue the main drain as it has very little benefit

Do you know what this might cost? It looks like it costs around the same to fix or get rid of the pool. 19x36 and 9ft. At deep end with concrete all around .

No idea on the cost
The only pipe replacement that I had was when my fibreglass pool popped out when empty and I replaced with heavy duty flexible pipe myself
Ignoring your main drain (blocking off) and replacing skimmer and returns shouldn't be a massive job

Especially if you don't bury them as deep as some people do. Excavation to 5ft costs a lot more than 2ft! You could get the lines pressure tested to somewhere near the pipes max pressure and see what happens. There are companies who re line pipes without excavation.
