Chlorine and algaecide

Postby shel » Mon 07 Aug, 2006 11:31

Can using algaecide too long in a pool deplete its chlorine? Even thought I continue to use chlorine tablets, my pool has no chlorine after using algaecide in a maintenance mode for a few months. It has no algae either.

Keep using algicide, only a coule oz a week. It won't deplete chlorine. If you're constantly adding chlorine you could have a demand. It's like having negative chlorine- I've dealt with people who have needed to add 48 bags before getting a chlorine reading. Then BAM! They sudenley eventually get a reading.
