We just resurfaced our pool a year ago with fiberglass. Since that time we have had a terrible problem with a white residue on the walls of the pool. It is also seen in the filter when we clean it. Can this be a result of the fiberglass eroding or being installed improperly?

Have your water tested and report back with th pH, alcalinity and calcium hardness levels. This will tell us if the problem is chemistry related or not. I've serviced a freshly resurfaced fiberglass pool this year and the problem it had (before the owner called me in) was too high a pH combined with too high alcalinity causing scaling.

pH 7.6 Calcium 200 Alkalinity 100

We have had it tested many times, and most times all the values are withing the correct range.

Thanks for your help.

Sorry for all the questions. What do you use for chlorination? Trichlor pucks, calcium hypo?
