changing kreepy parts

We recently ordered replacement parts for our kreepy. The swivel head
assembly kit seems to be solidly glued and I'm not sure if it was meant to be taken apart. Surely if you can replace it, it should break free. I'm afraid I'll crack the whole unit if I put too much pressure on it to remove and replace the broken piece. There are no directions on changing any of the parts sold. Help!
