Problem with new sand filter

I just purchased a new sand filter for my 24' above-ground. The old
filter tank was cracked. The new one seems fine. Except when I
vacuum, the dirt seems to be coming back into the pool. There are a
lot of air bubbles in the return as well. This does not occur under
normal filtering. Help!!

Try vacuuming to "waste". This will cost you water, but at least it will solve your other problem.
