winter clocing

Does anyone know exactly what level to lower the water to for (above ground 52")winter closing? I live in PEI CANADA where it is very cold in the winter and also get a lot of snow. I've put a winter cover on but not exactly sure what to do if there is 2 feet (or more)of snow on the cover. It's easy to remove the water(with a shop-vac) but what about the snow. Also my "pool guy" says there is no need for an air pillow, but many others say I should have one!
