Sand Floor vs. Concrete Floor

Ok, I need some educated answers on the differences between a sand floor and a concrete floor for an inground pool. I am getting prices on inground pools for my new home. I have had two companies in to give me estimates and they contradicted each other. I live in Mass and I am in a neighborhood where we have ground water. Do you know if this plays a part in which I should choose?

I have never had an inground pool and I am looking for some help and suggestions!
