Tiles, mosaic or natural stone?

Postby Bella » Thu 08 Feb, 2007 16:43

Help! I'm having a pool constructed at the moment and always thought I was going to use a natural stone like slate or sandstone. Now I've been told this is a nightmare to clean. Although it's the only drawback so far, I would still like some input on the subject. A 'good quality tile' is included in my quote and I do realize a stone would add some cost. Thanks for any help.

Natural stones typically are not inert. That is they will react in some way with pool water and chemicals. This can lead to staining or worse damage to the stone.

I would think you could find an outdoor tile that has the look you are trying to achieve.
