I have Hydration Stains. Need a way to prove it.

Stains on the pool surfaces, pool equipment
or on the swimmers, or off-color swimming pool
water. Discolored but clear pool water.

To solve your problem one would need to first of all know what product was used on your pool, the manufactures will offer you the best help not the people who applied it.
If it is A Quartz based plaster it could be Trowel Burn from the use of Steel Trowels, prevented when Plastic is used.

My pool is in ground 12x24 in central Florida and have same problem, greyish, rough stains over the whole pool, very visible especially in late afterenoon or cloudy. Forums and contractors now all agree it is hydration. Problem started a few months after it was built, no chem or metal problems, test after test, draining, acid washing, 5 yrs later remarcited and stains back after a few months. We have now, 10 years later, decided to diamond brite the pool. Now the big question is ...will the hydration stains come through this new surface...no one wants to guarantee it.....?
