Pebble Tec Surface

Postby Jeanette » Wed 25 Apr, 2007 23:26

our pebble tec surface pool has developed a strange phenomena. We are getting white dots and white streaks running down from the dots all over the pool surface. What causes this? What can be done to fix?

this can happen if you used powder shock and did not dilute it first. all chemicals must be diluted in a bucket of water before being broadcast into the pool with the pumps running.

Our pool is showing the same phenomena. We wonder if it is too much calcium. We also have white flakes on the floor of our pool.

Hello... In my opinion, doing pools for over 20 years, you do not have enough calcium in your pool. The walls start to exhibit white marks and flakes because the water is trying to pull the calcium out of the walls. It's kind of like to stop a tiger from eating you, you put meat in front of it, and as long as you keep putting meat there, the tiger won't get you! Well, as long as you continue to maintain calcium levels in the pool, it won't search for it elsewhere...
