Hi
I moved the handle on the multiport valve with the pump running although I knew the risk. It happened because the pump turned on automaticcaly due to the timer that turns it on automaticcaly, while I used the handle. Nothing seems to be wrong but will this have consequences on the valve? Why is it important to handle it with the pump off?
Thanks in advance for any reply.

Most likely you got away with it.
The problem with moving the valve whilst the pump is running is that you move through the closed position and if the pump is strong enough I have seen it blow the top off the valve and through the roof above. Clearly this didn't happen, so in all likelihood you are fine.
