Pool Leak

Postby TulsaSteve » Sun 27 May, 2007 21:08

I am loosing about 2" of water a day since I turned on the pool. It is gunite. I turned off the pump and it s still leaking the same. I have let the water drop below the water returns and skimmer. I dont see any cacks but the metal housng around the light is loose. I figure it s either the light or the main drain. It has leaked almost below the light now so if it stops leaking then is it the light? If it continues then I assume it is the main drain. Any sggestions how to fix either problem and what it will cost? Thanks for any help. The pool is over 10 years old. It was in the house when I bought it. 10 years ago

Are you seeing any leaking around your pump moter, valves or filter?

I'm hoping it's as simple as the pool light, but you may need to contact a leak expert in your area.

If it drops below your lights, which it sounds like, you can plug-off both ends with compression plugs at bottom drain and at skimmer port.
