Changing sand in Tagelus

Postby DeadPool » Tue 29 May, 2007 15:50

HI folks,

The sand in my Tagelus is very, very black and I want to change it. How do I go about doing that?

Do I blow the old sand out of the drain hole in the bottom or set the multi-port for something specific so it blows out the waste pipe?

Then, how do I go about re-filling it? Do I unscrew the multi-port?

Thanks in advance.

You have to remove the multi-port valve and remove the sand manually. IE: with your hands and a scoop! After you get a good bit out you can turn the filter on it's side and dump out the rest...then give it a good hosing and inspect your laterals, etc.

You then just add new sand (be sure to use filter sand, not play sand from home depot) through the top again, try not to get any in the tubes. When you replace the port...RINSE for a while or you will get a bunch of sand in your pool.
