Water Loss With Air

Postby Laura in Ohio » Sun 03 Jun, 2007 11:26

Replaced liner in 16 x 38 inground in new home. Pool was out of service for several years (liner fell in). We are losing about an inch of water a day, noticing some soil dampness around deep end (skimmer and 1 jet on this end, no light).
There is what looks to be a crack in the bottom of the skimmer basket, but no dampness in soil in close proximity. Air bubbles coming out of deep end jet, but this jet is closer to filter/pump. Pump loses prime every time it is turned off, but we do not have a gate valve, so I'm not sure if this is why.
New to inground pool ownership, and at a loss where to begin. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
